Audrey O’Sullivan
I am Audrey O Sullivan and I am an Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist with the IACP. I completed my training in Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapy in Cork Counselling Centre Training Institute. Prior to joining Oakwood, I was part of the counselling team at University of Limerick.
I work from a Humanistic and Integrative approach, this approach focuses on the importance of being your true self in order to lead the most fulfilling life. It’s based on the belief that everyone has their own unique way of looking at the world. This view can impact your choices and actions. This also creates a space for the individual to develop an awareness around what is preventing them from living life to fullest. My approach enables and empowers individuals to explore love, values, self-awareness, choice and human potential.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is very important. I provide a non-judgemental, confidential, listening, empathetic, supportive and safe place to explore and discuss the most difficult of things, even those that are hidden. I provide a strong solid presence to explore and journey with clients through the counselling process.
I work on a one to one basis with clients, areas covered (but not limited to) in my work are: anxiety, bereavement and loss, bullying, workplace difficulties, emotional health, general health, depression, self-esteem, family conflict, stress, sexuality, relationship difficulties and trauma.
I believe in Carl Rogers quote “WHAT YOU ARE IS GOOD ENOUGH IF YOU WOULD ONLY BE IT OPENLY”.
